The European Puppy & Handler Contest 2027 is the biggest pup title in Europe, and it is crowned inside the biggest indoor fetish festival on the continent: Beyond Darklands, in Antwerp, from 16 to 22 February 2027. Formerly known as Mr Puppy Europe, the contest is the reference event for the European pup and handler community, and its home at Darklands, themed The Ember Dunes for 2027, surrounds it with a vast programme of play spaces, markets and parties. Born at Darklands in 2015, the contest has crowned a decade of titleholders and, in renaming itself the European Puppy & Handler Contest, widened its embrace to pups, pets and handlers alike. The 2025 edition crowned European Puppy Pup Khao and European Handler Stefano, who spent the year travelling and representing the community, which is exactly what the title is about: visibility, connection and a year of ambassadorship across Europe.
The 2027 titleholder takes home a thousand-euro travel fund to support a year of appearances, an invitation to the next Beyond Darklands, and a fifty-euro merchandise voucher. The first and second runners-up receive festival invitations and merchandise vouchers of their own. It is a title with real backing, designed to help the winners actually do the work of representing the community.
Darklands is one of the largest indoor fetish festivals in the world, taking over the Waagnatie event halls on Antwerp’s waterfront each February. For 2027 it becomes Beyond Darklands, a new chapter as its historic site is redeveloped, running under the theme The Ember Dunes. Around the contest sits an enormous programme of play areas, a fetish market, workshops and parties, so the pup title is set inside a full week of the fetish world at its most ambitious.
